Rallycross man Mitchell to rally co-drive

-

BTRDA Rallycross driver Gary Mitchell will make his rally co-driving debut on the Pokerstars Rally on the Isle of Man this weekend.

Mitchell, who uses an ex-vauxhall Vectra Cup car in the BTRDA Clubmans series, felt it was time to make the switch across the car. “There’s no particular reason really. It’s just something I’ve wanted to do,” said Mitchell, who had to replace the engine in his Vectra after it expired at Blyton. He’ll co-drive for Richard Barnard in a BMW Compact M3.

Daniel Harper and Chris Campbell, seeded at car number two in their BMW Mini Cooper S, need only a top 12 result to take the Manx Rally Championship back to Lancashire.

The crew have taken maximum scores on three events so far this season, and their only real threats will be Mitsubishi Lancer E10 driver Timmy Collins, as well as BMW driver George Collister.

Dylan Davies makes his asphalt debut on the Pokerstars Rally, while Stu Bainborough is car number one. TT winner Michael Dunlop is set to return in his Ford Escort Mk2, while Dessie Nutt brings his Porsche 911.
