Bromyard Speed Festival set to rumble in 2017

‘The Beast meets Babs’ is the theme for the 2017 Bromyard Speed Festival when two iconic leviathans take to the streets of the Herefordshire town on Sunday, April 2.

Building on the success of the inaugural demonstration event, next year’s festival will be capped by the Beast of Turin, the 1911 28-litre Fiat land speed record car, and Babs, the 1926 27-litre land speed record car of John ParryThomas. Both cars will run on the streets of the Welsh borders market town.

The 2016 edition drew 5000 people to see competition cars demonstrated around a lap of the town. Cars and motorbikes will be divided into categories, with each group taking part in several multi-lap demonstrations between 1000hrs and 1630hrs.

The Bromyard business community responded positively to the first festival and was keen for it to be repeated.
