Chan­nel 4 firms up live F1 cov­er­age, adds Monaco

The Monaco Grand Prix will be shown live on UK terrestrial TV for the first time since 2012 af­ter Chan­nel 4 un­veiled its sched­ule for this year’s world cham­pi­onship.

Chan­nel 4 will con­tinue to screen cov­er­age from all 20 races this year, with 10 be­ing shown live and the other 10 get­ting ex­tended high­lights shows.

For this year Chan­nel 4 has elected to broad­cast the race from Monte Carlo (on May 28) live for the first time since the BBC last aired it in 2012. Other key live races in­clude Bahrain (April 16), Bri­tain (July 16), Bel­gium (Au­gust 27) and USA (Oc­to­ber 22).

Sky will con­tinue to show all races live, with high­lights re­peated across both sched­uled broad­casts and on-de­mand ser­vices. Sky will also in­tro­duced Ul­tra HD F1 cov­er­age for the first time this year.
