Channel 4 firms up live F1 coverage, adds Monaco
The Monaco Grand Prix will be shown live on UK terrestrial TV for the first time since 2012 after Channel 4 unveiled its schedule for this year’s world championship.
Channel 4 will continue to screen coverage from all 20 races this year, with 10 being shown live and the other 10 getting extended highlights shows.
For this year Channel 4 has elected to broadcast the race from Monte Carlo (on May 28) live for the first time since the BBC last aired it in 2012. Other key live races include Bahrain (April 16), Britain (July 16), Belgium (August 27) and USA (October 22).
Sky will continue to show all races live, with highlights repeated across both scheduled broadcasts and on-demand services. Sky will also introduced Ultra HD F1 coverage for the first time this year.
