England and Boyd to team up in P3 attack

-

Reigning LMP3 champion Christian England will defend his title with new team-mates this year after joining up with single-seater driver Wayne Boyd and Mark Patterson.

England will remain with the Anglo-american United Autosports team for a second term in the European Le Mans Series, but will switch to the sister car for his title defence.

England, who returned to racing last season after a 13-year lay-off, won last year’s P3 crown alongside Alex Brundle and Mike Guasch.

The deal also marks Northern Irishman Boyd’s second campaign in European sportscar racing.

“Last year was such a phenomenal season, but I’m really looking forward to joining Mark and Wayne,” said England. “There is such a good intra-team friendship and rivalry from last year and we all get along great.

“It will be tough to surpass last season, but our aim has to be to try and win more races.”

Boyd added: “I’m over the moon to be doing ELMS again, and to be racing with Christian instead of against him. Our car had some bad luck last year but we know we have the pace.”
