Tordoff adds Dubai 24hrs to GT racing year
Sam Tordoff will warm up for his move into the British GT Championship this year with a run in this week’s Dubai 24 Hours.
The 2016 British Touring Car Championship runner-up will join the HB Racing team to handle a Lamborghini Huracan GT3.
Tordoff ( right) will share the car with Herbert Handlos, Norbert Siedler and Florian Spengler.
The outing will mark Tordoff ’s GT3 racing debut, ahead of his maiden season in British GT this year where he will share a Barwell Motorsport Huracan with Liam Griffin.
“This opportunity is the perfect way to start my preparations for 2017,” said Tordoff. “It will be my first chance to drive the Huracan GT3 and gives me some much needed track time. “I’m running with a very capable group of drivers and, with the team’s experience of GT racing, we’re confident of a good result. This will also be my first experience of competing in a 24-hour race, as I begin to build toward my ultimate goal of racing at Le Mans.” Tordoff is due to begin testing with Barwell next month, and is also working toward securing additional GT3 outings in Europe.
