Austin wants wins with Handy Avensis

Handy Motorsport will again field Rob Austin in the British Touring Car Championship this season in its Toyota Avensis.

Austin, 35, has been a two-time winner in his self-run Audi, but joined Handy last season for his first campaign in a front-wheeldrive car.

He took three podiums over the second half of the season and has set his targets higher this year.

“We knew there would be a learning curve for 2016, for driving, engineering and management,” said Austin. “All have to be perfect to get to the front and it took longer than expected.

“Our continuous improvement through the second half of last season though shows that we got there in the end. There is no reason that form won’t continue.”
