Lotus Cup’s Mackay and Balon to GT4

Lotus Cup drivers Adam Mackay and Adam Balon will team up to share a new Mclaren 570S GT4 in this year’s British GT Championship.

Last year’s Lotus Cup UK champion Mackay will race the car alongside third-place finisher Balon for the TrackClub team, which has purchased the Mclaren for its return to British GT.

The team has sporadically raced in British GT in recent years, usually in the showpiece Silverstone round. It entered an Aston Martin and a Lotus Evora respectively in 2014 and ’15 under the Track Group name. The team has regularly raced in the Aston Martin GT4 Challenge and the UK Lotus classes.

Former Scottish Formula Ford champion Mackay won last year’s Lotus title in an Exige V6. Balon has British GT experience from a one-off in the Evora in 2015, having raced Caterhams and Lotus.
