Designer Reynard offered race outings in former title-winning Formula Ford 2000 car

Adrian Reynard will return to Formula Ford 2000 this year in the car in which he won the 1979 EFDA Euroseries title.

Reynard is the driving force behind his eponymous racing car marque that has won races from Formula Ford 1600 to Indycar and Formula 1, and recently returned to a designing role as part of Ginetta’s new LMP1 sportscar project.

The 65-year-old, who is racing an FF1600 at Hampton Downs in One driver from this year’s Legends Cars Championsh­ip will get a test in a Handy Motorsport Toyota Avensis British Touring Car as part of a new prize package for 2017.

The series has linked up with former Legends racer Simon Belcher, who runs Handy Motorsport’s BTCC car, which is raced by Rob Austin.
