Chilton to contest dual touring car campaign in the World and British championships

-

Tom Chilton has added a World Touring Championship campaign to his 2017 British Touring Car commitments after agreeing a deal to stay with the Sebastien Loeb Racing team.

Chilton finished eighth in the WTCC in 2016 and second in the Independents Trophy, with one victory in Argentina to his name.

He was confirmed as the lead driver for Vauxhall’s factorybacked BTCC return with Power Maxed Racing, but insisted he was still keen to race in the WTCC. He will continue to drive one of SLR’S C-elysees in 2017.

“It’s going to be a busy year,” said Chilton. “The 2016 season delivered some amazing moments that I want to carry into this year and improve on my second place in the WTCC Trophy.

“I am fortunate to have amazing support from the Sebastien Loeb Racing team and look forward to more wins over the coming months.”
