Massa’s gift

-

Williams has allowed Felipe Massa to keep the retirement gift of his F1 chassis from Brazil, despite him not actually being in retirement for a single official session. Massa has been drafted back in to drive for Williams this year after Valtteri Bottas moved to Mercedes. Massa said his emotional farewells in Brazil and Abu Dhabi, and was gifted with his Massa-branded car, which was repaired after his shunt at Interlagos. “It’s mine, it’s mine,” said Massa when asked if he had to give the car back. “It’s got my name on the side and it’s in the factory. I never intended to retire fully from motorsport, but I feel ready for this comeback, even if I was surprised by it.”
