American Das completes Carlin’s BRDC British Formula 3 driver line-up
American Cameron Das has completed Carlin’s line-up for this year’s BRDC British Formula 3 Championship.
The 16-year-old became the first winner of the US Formula 4 Championship last year, claiming nine wins, and also competed in USF2000 before contesting the British F3 Autumn Trophy event at Snetterton with Carlin last October, finishing seventh overall with a best finish of fifth.
Das joins the previously confirmed James Pull and Enaam Ahmed to complete the line-up at Carlin – the team that ran Ricky Collard to the runner-up spot last season.
“British Formula 3 feels like the natural next step in my racing development,” said Das. “I’ve already had a chance to see Carlin in action and I couldn’t be more excited to spend 2017 with them.”
Trevor Carlin added: “It takes a lot for a driver to dominate any part of the season in the way that Cameron did with US Formula 4 last year, both physically and mentally, so we’re looking forward to welcoming him.”
Das’s deal means he becomes the seventh driver to confirm his place on the 2017 grid.
