O’donovan set to take on the world

-

Former British Rallycross champion Ollie O’donovan will compete in the final round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship in South Africa this season.

He will tackle the WRX round alongside his third successive full programme in the FIA European Rallycross Championship, driving a Ford Fiesta Supercar.

The Irish driver is also planning to race in the British round of World RX, and will begin the year in the British Rallycross Championship too. He plans to continue in the domestic series for as long as he has a chance of fighting for the title.

“I’m delighted that we are able to announce our plans at this stage of the year, it gives us a solid base to build on heading to the first round of the British Championship at Croft and the European Championship in Spain,” said O’donovan.

“I’m really looking forward to this season. The European Championship will be more competitive than ever, and to race in South Africa at the end of the year will be very special. We have unfinished business in the British Championship too, but we have to see how things go. The priority is the Euro Championship and the World Rallycross Championship events,” he added.
