Formula Ford team Geva Racing expands into sportscars with new Ginetta GT programme
Crack Formula Ford team Geva Racing will expand into GT racing this year with a campaign in the Creventic Endurance Series.
The Dutch squad has purchased an endurance-spec Ginetta G50 and will campaign it in the full pan-European Touringcar Endurance contest, which includes the Silverstone 24 Hour event in April.
Geva has formed a partnership with Bedford-based TDF Engineering for the project, with the car running under the TDF.GEVA banner.
Geva regular and Dutch Formula Ford champion Melroy Heemskerk and Sven van Laere are the first two drivers confirmed, with two more set to join the team for the Silverstone event.
“GT racing is growing and is the purest form of sportcar racing, much like Formula Ford is the purest single-seater competition, it’s the drivers that make the difference,” said Geva’s Nelson Valkenburg.
“We’ve done some shakedown testing with the Ginetta and it’s a highly developed car. It should be an exciting season.”
