Beveridge enjoys maiden Corolla outing

-

After an 18-month build programme, Ian Beveridge debuted his Toyota Corolla TE27 on the Red Kite Stages.

The former Metro 6R4 driver has wanted to run the 1600cc Category 2 car since he was involved in the development of the car in the 1970s and had a good run to fourth in class on the event.

“We got the ’shell in April 2015 and it is a bit of an unknown quantity,” said the Brackley- based driver. Much of the work has been done by Robin Ward at DAMAX, better known for preparing Group C cars.

“It’s had to fit in with Robin’s commitments and the WTCC calendar,” said Beveridge, who is a senior race tyre consultant.

“We plan to do Rally North Wales next and then the Midnight Sun Rally at the end of June and the Roger Albert Clark Rally,” said Beveridge.
