Ground-breaking 750 Formula racer to be rebuilt live on stage

-

A ground-breaking car from the history of the 750 Motor Club will be rebuilt live on the club’s stand at Race Retro.

The Warren was designed for the 750 Formula by Jerry Evershed and won the 1973 title in the hands of Robyn Smith. It was remarkable as it ran with a supercharged version of the 747cc Reliant engine and a specially made cylinder head.

After many years in storage, current owner Ron Welsh and other club members will rebuild the car during the three days of the show with a plan to get the Warren ready to race again.

The 750 Formula is one of the oldest racing categories in the world, dating back to 1949 and has always been home to innovative home builders. This season, the club is making a big push to get some of the older cars back onto the track.
