Ogier conducts first gravel test

Sebastien Ogier tested a Ford Fiesta WRC officially on gravel for the first time earlier this week.

Prior to his Spanish seat time this week, the Frenchman’s only loose surface Fiesta running came during his half-day test in Wales, shortly before signing for the M-sport World Rally Team. Ogier identified his two-day Spanish outing as one of the most important sessions of the season for him.

Ogier told MN: “There’s always a lot to achieve in a test, but the main thing was to find the best feeling possible and to get the confidence with the car.

“I want to make the car as fast as I possibly can. This time there was a lot to discover for the first time on gravel. We looked at differential settings and all of the set-up. They were two very important days.”
