Both Force India and Sauber have dropped the complaint they made to the European Union Competitions Commission regarding F1’s governance and payment structure. The two teams officially lodged a complaint in September 2015, citing the revenue division as “unfair and unlawful” in the sport. Ferrari, Red Bull, Mclaren, Mercedes and Williams currently receive favourable payments. In the wake of Liberty Media’s takeover of the sport and much discussion on creating a more even playing field in F1, both teams issued a statement last week confirming that they had withdrawn the complaint on anti-competitive practices.
