Formula E champion Lucas di Grassi has revealed that he would be interested in becoming FIA president once he has retired from racing. The 33-year-old Brazilian is CEO of the driverless racing initiative Roborace and has also championed safety improvemen­ts in recent years. “I love my sport,” he said. “I have sometimes a very different view from other people. I have a lot of time in front of me, but why not think big and why not think about the FIA presidency in the future?”… Formula V8 3.5 champion Pietro Fittipaldi is being considered for the vacant Indycar seat at Dale Coyne Racing and tested with the team last week. Team boss Coyne is likely to run two drivers in the seat after being unable to find someone with the budget for a full season. Some-time F3 Cup driver Zach Claman Demelo and Briton Jack Hawksworth have been linked with the drive… ART Grand Prix has completed its GP3 line-up after retaining 2013 French F4 champion Anthoine Hubert for a second season. He will partner Callum Ilott, Jake Hughes and Nikita Mazepin at the squad this year after finishing fourth in the standings last term… A new endurance race will take place at Monza this year. The Targa 6H Monza on March 10 will be an all-comers race open to GT3, GT4, TCR and CN prototype machinery. It has been launched by Driving Force Events, the organiser of the Gulf 12 Hours at Yas Marina… Seven-time Australian Supercars champion Jamie Whincup has suggested that 2019 could be his last full season in the category. The 35-year-old recently signed a one-year contract extension rather than agree to another three-year deal as he is unsure of his future beyond 2019… World Endurance champion Timo Bernhard and DTM title-winner Rene Rast are among the latest drivers to sign up for the Race of Champions this weekend. European Formula 3 runner-up Joel Eriksson and World Rallycross champion Johan Kristoffer­sson will also take part in the Saudi Arabian event alongside the likes of Tom Kristensen, Juan Pablo Montoya and Lando Norris, who had already been confirmed as competing…
