Brand new startup aims to ‘revolutionise’ yachting

Med yacht charter from €99

FLOAT, a brand new startup business based in St Tropez on the French Riviera, has been launched with the ambition of revolutionising access to luxury boating.

Rather than chartering an entire yacht, users will be able to book a ‘seat’ on one of its fleet of vessels on a pre-determined route. The company claims that prices will be as low as €99 per person. Founded by CEO of 21st Luxury and former owner of Camper & Nicholsons International Gualtiero Giori, and CEO of Yacht Harbour Dimitri Semenikhin, the company will initially operate routes around Monaco and St Tropez. Cruises will include time to lounge and swim from the yacht, plus lunch at prestigious beach restaurants as well as champagne for guests to enjoy on board. Vessels available currently include an open Maori 50 and a flybridge Bénéteau. Users are able to book tickets through a website or app.

FLOAT claims that it ‘brings its user the experience of yachting at a price up to 20 times lower than alternatives.’

“I wanted everyone to be able to enjoy yachting, which meant making it more accessible and simpler to enjoy,” said Giori.

The company hopes to expend operations to Miami and the Bahamas in winter.
