OMEGA SEAMASTER DIVER 300M JAMES BOND LIMITED EDITION

-

Omega watches burst onto the 007 scene in 1995, a gadget-laden Seamaster 300M coming to James Bond’s rescue courtesy of an inbuilt laser beam and a remote detonator.

Omega launched a limited edition 007 version of that watch to commemorate the tie-in, and have done for every movie since. When Daniel Craig took over from Pierce Brosnan, the watch moved on too, the Omega Planet Ocean becoming ‘government issue’ as the classic 300M slipped out of production. But the 300M is back. Omega has launched a new version of this popular classic, and now there’s a 007 version too. Made to celebrate 50 years since the long underrated but now highly regarded On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, it’s made of steel with a rubber strap and a stainless steel bracelet (they’re interchangeable).

It has the iconic 007 gun barrel design embossed into the dial and the number 7 on the date disc is in 007 font. A hidden 50 on the 10 o’clock index also appears by night as a secret signature within the Super-luminova. On the side of the case, Omega has placed an 18K yellow gold plate engraved with each unique Limited Edition number.

18K yellow gold has also been used to create the hands and indexes, including the index at 12 o’clock, which is inspired by the Bond family coat-of-arms. The inside of the sapphire crystal caseback actually has that coat-of-arms metallised in gold and black. It’s a proper diver’s watch, so is 300 metre waterproof and even features a helium escape valve (but sadly no laser beam). Just seven of the limited edition 007s are being made. PRICE £5,220
