What a difference a month makes. When we started work on this issue we were busy gearing up for THE NEW SEASON, planning boat tests and commissioning cruising stories all across the UK and Europe. As I write this now, most of the world is in lockdown and everyone, myself included, is more concerned about their health, their finances and their dwindling supplies of loo paper than where to cruise this summer or what type of antifouling to use. That’s exactly as it should be. Even I know that health and happiness is vastly more important than a few extra barnacles on your hull. That said, the last thing you want to read about in a boat magazine is yet more doom and gloom, so while I don’t think it would be right to stick our heads in the sand and pretend it isn’t happening, I do think we can lift them up to the horizon and look to BETTER DAYS AHEAD.
At some point this will all be over, the sea will still be there, our boats will still be there and every marine business will be desperate for our custom.
