This is a brilliant piece of kit from Draper Tools, invaluable for touring and perfect tucked away on your bike for emergencies. In short, it’s a compact and powerful jump-starter/ charger, but really, it’s much more than that – with USB outputs and a work lamp with multiple settings (constant, SOS and flashing) too.

Thankfully, I’m not in the habit of draining batteries, but I managed to test it pretty thoroughly on some smaller capacity used machines (with admittedly weak batteries) – and it more than lived up to the task, jumping the bikes with ease on multiple occasions. More specifically, the clever gadget is capable of delivering a potent charge for emergency jump-starting vehicles (up to six litre petrol and two litre diesel).

It weighs in under 0.4kg, and is really reasonably sized, easily tucked away in its padded carry case – and would suit being kept in a pannier, tank bag or even rucksack if you are heading out on the road for any extended period of time.

It’s fitted with two USB slots and a work lamp with three settings: constant, SOS and flashing. It is supplied with a padded carry case, smart jump leads, four-in-one multipurpose USB lead for charging mobile phones and tablets, and 230V and 12V charging adaptors too.

If you need a jump-starter/charger, I’d encourage you to take a look at this fantastic little gadget from Draper. I recognise that it’s not cheap, and with loads of other (slightly lower priced) options to choose from you might be reluctant to spend the cash – but with Draper, you can be confident in the quality of product on offer.
