Triumph Street Scrambler

ROAD MANNERS

The Street Scrambler’s an absolute treat to ride. Its wide bars also allow you to throw it around with ease, while its Metzeler Tourance rubber inspire confidence in the wet or dry. Plus, those new Brembo brakes give the retro off-roader increased stopping power without being intimidating.

ALL-DAY COMFORT

While its seat isn’t exactly plush, the Street Scrambler’s good for all day in the saddle. Although the seat’s fairly low at 790mm, its seat/footpeg/handlebar combination offers an extremely comfortable and surprisingly roomy ride. There’s no wind protection though, so it’s never going to be that much fun on the motorway.

PULLING POWER

One of the headline changes for the 2019 Street Scrambler is its extra 10bhp from the updated 900cc Bonneville ‘High Torque’ motor. It means you’ve now got 64bhp and 80Nm of torque to play with. And it is a lot of fun; smooth, tractable and unintimidating with more than enough character to keep you interested. Oh, and it sounds fantastic, too.

CITY SLICKER

While its 19” front wheel and Metzeler Tourance ‘dualpurpose’ tyres hint at the Street Scrambler’s off-road ability, it is by no means a serious off-road machine. Don’t get me wrong, it’ll happily barrel down a dusty trail or two, but anything more complex and you’re going to have to work hard to keep the bike in shape. In spite of its off-road credentials, it’s surprisingly tasty on the Tarmac. Light, flickable and surefooted, it’s easy to see why previous generation Street Scramblers have been snapped up by stylish city dwellers far and wide.
