Harley-Davidson’s explore-it-all Pan America

-

The Pan America motorcycle is Harley-Davidson’s explore-itall machine, and there are two versions – the Pan America and the Pan America Special.

Both Pan America models are powered by the new 150hp Revolution Max 1250 engine, a liquidcooled 1252cc-displacement V-Twin, built from the ground up. The Revolution Max engine is integrated into the vehicle as the central member of the chassis to help bring the overall weight of the standard model down to 245kg and the S model to 258kg.

Jochen Zeitz, CEO of Harley-Davidson, said of the Pan America: “From its inception more than a century ago, when many roads were little more than dirt trails, Harley-Davidson has stood for adventure. So, I’m very proud to present Pan America as the first adventure touring bike designed and built in America. The Pan America models exude that go-anywhere spirit, shared today by riders around the globe who want to experience the world on a motorcycle.”

The Pan America boasts hill-hold control, cruise control, ABS, semi-active suspension, riding modes plus a 6.8in touch-sensitive

TFT screen. Also, for a further £600, there’s an option for an adaptive ride height (ARH) that lowers the suspension automatically when you stop. The revolutionary new suspension system automatically transitions between a low stopped position and optimal ride height when the motorcycle is in motion.

The Pan America 1250 and Pan America 1250 Special models will arrive at Harley-Davidson dealerships in the summer, with prices starting from £14,000, rising to £15,500 for the Special model.
