NEWEST NAKED: Aprilia reveal Tuono 660

-

Aprilia has officially unveiled its new Tuono 660 – giving us all the information we need about one of the most eagerly anticipated motorcycles of the year.

Following in the footsteps of the RS660 from last year, the Aprilia Tuono boasts a 94bhp parallel-twin sports naked punching above its mid-sized capacity.

We’ve been talking about this bike for months, but now we finally get to find out all about it. As you’d expect, it follows much the same format as its RS 660 sibling – but comes sans fairing. Aside from that the main difference is its higher riding position, to help offer a more natural and comfortable ride for the road. Like the RS 660, the Tuono make use of the double fairing concept (with the aerodynamic appendix), in addition to a triple LED headlight unit featuring DRL lights.

Weighing in at 183kg thanks to its light weight frame and swingarm, which is made from die-cast aluminium, the baby Tuono comes with an adjustable Kayaba suspension system too. While it uses the same latest generation forward-facing twin cylinder as the 660, its final drive is shorter. It gets top of the class electronics; with a Rideby-Wire electronic accelerator helping to modulate the APRC electronic suite, which includes multi-level traction control, anti-wheelie control, cruise control, engine brake control, five rider modes and selectable engine maps. Oh and ABS too.

The Tuono 660 will be available in three colour schemes: Concept Black, Iridium Grey and Acid Gold – at a price of £9700.
