TCX District Boots

My go-to boots for everyday riding, come rain or shine, have been a pair of Rev’it Marshalls. These waterresistant, waxed urban-vintage style boots, constructed of full-grain cowhide leather, have served me well, although I do recall they took a good deal of breaking in before I felt comfortable in them.
Not so the TCX District boots that I have been enjoying recently. Comfortable straight from the box, compared to the Marshalls, they are like putting on a pair of favourite slippers, I kid you not.
The outer layer consists of ultralightweight, yet robust, high tenacity fabric with microfibre. Sitting underneath is a waterproof and breathable membrane, so the wearer is assured of dry, comfortable feet. The boots have a reinforced rand in the heel counter and toe, plus gear change area, which clearly helps when you are constantly shifting up. The Ortholite footbed offers excellent cushioning and a high level of breathability, so you can wear them all day, with comfort guaranteed, thanks also to the wear-resistant, antislip thermoplastic polyurethane sole.
I take a size 44, so that is what I requested, and the fit was perfect. With a typical British foot requiring a slightly wider toe bed, I was certainly not disappointed. Lacing is simple, with the added security of a Velcro fastening cover to stop the laces getting caught in any parts of the bike’s controls. To complete the picture, they boast ankle reinforcements, and additional padding at the back. Size range is EU 38-48.
