The single-layer Tactical is the lightest single-layer denim developed by Bull-it, incorporating Covec yarns in the denim structure rather than a separate lining.

Despite the light and stretchy feel, the jeans are AA CEapproved, so they are not just pretty. Which they are, too, but with the Covec-strengthened structure and CE Level 2 hip and knee armour as standard, there is a good level of protection here. The pockets for the armour are nicely shaped so the protectors don’t move too much, and the height of the knee protectors can be adjusted (three height options) with Velcro strips.

The first thing you notice when you pull a pair of the Tactical Icon Easy jeans on is that they are stretchy. Properly, noticeably stretchy. They are the first jeans of this type I have ever worn, but definitely not the last as they offer great comfort both on and off the bike. Adding to the comfy feel is the thin wick-away mesh liner to improve breathability and comfort, keeping the rider cool in hot conditions. It feels nice and soft on your skin.

Thanks to the stretchy denim, the pockets are easy to access, and the button and YKK zip fly easy to operate even with cold and clumsy hands. Bull-it also claims that the jeans are shower resistant, but I can’t vouch for that.

The cut gives a relaxed fit with boot-cut hem so you can choose whether to wear the jeans over or under most boots.

These are superbly comfortable jeans with an impressive level of protection. Remove the protectors and I doubt that anyone would be able to tell they are anything other than a pair of fashion jeans.
