Entries for the opening round of the MSA British Historic Rally Championsh­ip, the Red Kite Stages on Sunday February 21, are building quickly. The first 20 historic entries were taken by Christmas and the event is expected to fill up rapidly in the New Year. The Llandovery-based rally will include one special stage not used for many years.

... so is Legend rally Over 230 entries have already been lodged for the Legend Boucles historic rally in Belgium (February 20/21). A maximum of 300 cars will start the Bastogne-based event, which includes a day of gravel rallying on the Sunday. British entries include Paul Griffiths in his Ford Escort Mk2 in only his second rally since the end of 2014.

Coleman reunited Irish rallying legend Billy Coleman will be reunited with a famous old car of his for the Circuit of Ireland Deja Vu event at Easter. Coleman will get the chance to drive the Ford Escort Mk1 ‘MEV 36J’ that he used to win the 1974 British Rally Championsh­ip. The ex-hannu Mikkola car is now owned and rallied by Irishman Mark Falvey.

Ginetta for sale The ex-peter Creasey Ginetta G12 from 1967 will be a notable car going under the hammer at the Coys auction at Autosport Internatio­nal. Chassis G12/3 has more recently been restored by Ian Mcdonald and raced in the Guards Trophy last season. Around 30 G12s were built in period and the Lotus twin cam-engined car’s guide price is £45,000 to £55,000.
