Rally thanks

-

I would like to thank the senior officials, stage commanders, marshals, timing crews, rescue and recovery crews who came from all over the country to support us on the 39th running of the Mid Wales Stages, this year the opening round of the brand new, MSA British Rally Championship, on March 5/6.

We were also pleased to welcome back the Defender Challenge by Bowler Motorsport, the FMP Rally Challenge, the Pirelli MSA Welsh Stage Rally Championship, the Welsh Clubman’s Forest Championship, the ANWCC Historic Stage Rally Championship, Forest Rally Championship, Ladies Championship and Allrounders Championship and also welcome the brand new HRCR Stage Masters Historic Stage Rally Challenge.

As result we had 120 entries, with 115 starting.

Thanks to your efforts we were able to run an event that Colin Clark, in MN, said “actually lived up to all the pre-event hype” and comprised “some of the best stages in the world”.

The weather was challenging but resulted in a true test for all crews.

Many competitors, championship officials and senior officials (from other clubs) also praised the running of the event and this was down to your huge team effort. We also had to comply with all the new MSA Rally Future safety requirements.

We ran to international rules and look forward to the BRC returning to the Mid Wales Stages in Newtown on March 4-6, 2017. Please put the dates in your diaries. We look forward to welcoming you all back. Chris Tomley Clerk of the course Mid Wales Stages 2016
