Rallying support

It is great to see this Facebook page with so many people sharing their concerns about the proposed increased costs of using the Welsh forests.

I am a long-time retired competitor and I suggest all rally enthusiasts need to take some direct action.

May I encourage all rally competitors, marshals and spectators from anywhere in the UK to write to every Welsh Assembly Member (there are 60 of them)? If you get yourself organised this will probably take two or three hours.

I would suggest each email is individually addressed to Ms L Wood or Mr N Hamilton and not to Assembly Member. The content of each email that a writer is sending can otherwise be identical.

The email could well cover what the problem is, what your suggested solution is and what action you would like that Assembly Member to take. Sending a standard email that everyone reading this Facebook page uses would not be a good idea.

Use your own words, and finish with your name and postal address so that the Assembly Member can see that it is an issue that has a reach far outside Wales.

If you cannot manage to find time to send to all the Assembly Members, then maybe email 10 or 20 of them. Please don’t pick the first 10 in the list as that will cause an uneven distribution of emails.

I plan to be sending emails to all 60 this weekend. I hope that you can find the time to join me in this task.
