REV UP FOR THE FESTIVAL OF SPEED

World champion will wow the crowds in West Sussex

Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg will headline a star-studded lineup for this weekend’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The team-mates and rivals, battling for the World Championship, will both drive 2014-specification Mercedes W05 hybrid F1 cars on the hill at motor sport’s annual garden party.

Joining them in action will be Britain’s newest F1 racer Jolyon Palmer in a Renault Sport E20, while other drivers from the current F1 grid on hand, but not driving current F1 cars, will include Jenson Button and Nico Hulkenberg.

Sir Stirling Moss, now 86 years old, will be another star guest while at least three former World champions will drive on the hill. Jackie Stewart will handle a rare Lotus 43 from Jim Clark’s 1966 season and a Lola T70 Spyder, John Surtees will also drive a Lola T70 Spyder and Emerson Fittipaldi will revisit his 1993 Indianapolis 500 victory by driving a Penske PC22.

On a weekend of outstanding cars and drivers, along with myriad off- track activities, a gaggle of star names will thrill the fans.

As part of the BMW celebration, Riccardo Patrese will drive a BMWengined Brabham BT52 from his 1983 campaign, five times Le Mans winner Emanuele Pirro will drive a Porsche 908/3 and, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the start of the Can-am category, Brian Redman will drive the 1000bhp Porsche 917.

EX-F1 stars Gerhard Berger, in a 2008 Toro Rosso, Jean-pierre Jabouille, in a 1977 Renault F1 turbo, Jochen Mass, in a Ford Capri RS2600 and Rene Arnoux will be on hand.
