Formula Vintage is the new brand name for the racing programme from the Vintage Sports-car Club.

As the club celebrates the 80th anniversary of its first race meeting at Donington Park on July 10, 1937, the rebrand is designed to introduce the VSCC’S unique racing schedule to a wider audience.

Formula Vintage will visit five British circuits, with each meeting headlined by one of the club’s trophy collections, celebrating heroes of the Pre- and Post-war eras including Mike Hawthorn and Richard Seaman.

Feature races at each event will be for pre-1931 vintage racing cars and pre-1961 racing cars, while other races will cover Pre-war sports-cars, allcomers scratch and handicap races.

The VSCC organised one of the last UK race meetings in 1939 before the Second World War and was then central to the first Post-war race meeting at Gransden Lodge in July 1947. Two years later, the club ran one of the first meetings at the fledgling Silverstone circuit.

The 2017 schedule for Formula Vintage takes in dates at Silverstone, which returns to a two-day format on April 22/23, Oulton Park (June 10), Cadwell Park (July 23), Mallory Park (August 12) and Snetterton (September 17).

Highlights include the Pre1918 Edwardian Handicap Race at Mallory Park, the Pre-war Sports-car Team Relay Race and races for Frazer Nashes/ GNS, Rileys, MGS, Austin 7s and the Williams Trophy for Bugattis. The HGPCA will guest at Silverstone. Other guest races include Classic Morgans and Ferraris.
