REDEVELOPMENT START SAT DON IN GT ON

-

Donington Park will undergo a multi-million pound transformation ahead of the 2018 season after being acquired by Jonathan Palmer’s Motorsport Vision (MSV).

The takeover of the track was completed by MSV in August last year and several major improvements will now be made to the circuit’s facilities.

This includes a new grandstand on the outside of Hollywood corner, a new restaurant, bar and cafe, and the existing paddock entrance will become the circuit’s main entrance.

Giles Butterfield, MSV’S group operations manager, said: “These are exciting times for MSV and we look forward to launching Donington Park’s 2018 season with vastly improved facilities for all our customers, whether they are spectators, competitors or track day participants.

“MSV prides itself on providing a first-class experience for visitors at all its venues and the works that are underway at Donington Park will ensure this great circuit is brought in line with our other venues across the UK.”

Other changes include the switch from Donington’s blue and white livery to MSV’S red, black and white colours.

A hard surface will be laid in paddock three, with water and electricity being added later in the year.

Existing toilet blocks in spectator areas will be demolished and replaced with bigger and more modern facilities.

And a new circuit office will be added and internal roads will be improved for easier access.

The changes will be completed before the start of the racing season in March.
