The start of the second Indycar race from Detroit was delayed by nearly 40 minutes after the safety car crashed while leading the field on the formation lap. The Termas de Rio Hondo circuit was a permanent fixture on the World Touring Car Championsh­ip calendar from 2013 until the category’s final season last year but has been replaced by the Slovakia Ring due to economic difficulti­es… Australian Supercars is investigat­ing hybrid technology as a possible option for its Gen3 regulation­s, series boss Sean Seamer has confirmed. Seamer explained that the hybrid talks are still in their infancy, but he hopes to have it locked down by the end of this year to give competitor­s time to get organised with the Supercars commission currently investigat­ing how it could be incorporat­ed… After a number of clutch and engine management problems, an update is expected for the new Formula 2 car for Paul Ricard later this month, which is expected to fix both issues...
