WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT PRESCOTT
Ray Rowan 1989 British champion
“My first ever British Hillclimb Championship win was at Prescott in September 1984, which was as much of a surprise to me as it was to everyone else. It was a fantastic day and there were six of us in a quarter of a second and I happened to be at the front of the queue. “We had great times at Prescott along the way and I clinched the championship here in 1989, so it has been good to me. It’s a fabulous venue: a classic hillclimb and I still enjoy driving it occasionally.”
Sean Gould Competitor and constructor
“The Prescott hillclimb course has been very kind to us over the past few years and we’ve won a number of championships here with our cars, which has been nice. They range from Chris Cramer through to David Grace and Scott Moran, who is here today.”
Roger Moran 1997 British champion
“I did my first hillclimb at Prescott in 1989 and have always gone okay here. We had some good times here with the Pilbeam and more recently the Gould and my son Scott has done quite well. It’s probably the most difficult hill to drive and it is very technical and quite difficult to get it right.”
Martin Bolsover 1982/’83/’84 British champion
“Prescott was very kind to me and we did reasonably well with the single-seater and set a record with the Pilbeam MP50 sportscar that lasted a few years. It is a super venue and the facilities are great. I competed here for about 20 years and it is a big part of British hillclimbing.”
