Rallyx Nordic sticks with the same rules for the next five competitions
The Rallyx Nordic series has announced a regulation freeze for the next five years.
The series will use the current FIA Rallycross Supercar Regulations, with a number of additions. Teams will be eligible to use non-homologated software and will have no limit on the number of engines or turbochargers used through the year. Direct-injection engines will be banned, while front radiators will also be “outlawed to improve reliability.” Cooper Tires will introduce a harder type compound in a bid to equaliser performance. Drivers will be seeded into two groups for the Q1 grid draw, while in Q2, Q3 and Q4, the running order will be reversed, so the fastest drivers run in the first races.
The single-make Supercar Lites category will continue to act as the support class, while the series will adopt the Touringcar category dropped from the European Championship this season.
The RX Academy will also join Nordic for a number of events.
The first round will take place with a double-header at Holjes in Sweden on May 17-19, and will visit Denmark, Latvia, Norway and Finland.
The dates have also been released for the annual Rallyx on Ice series, which this winter will take place over three rounds at the same venue in just one week. Held at are in Sweden, three different frozen-lake tracks will be used between Monday, March 18, and Saturday, March 23.
