MATT NEAL

Team Dynamics Honda

Had good pace on Saturday and was faster than team-mate Cammish. His team misjudged the conditions and set-up for the first race but Neal came on strongly as the track dried for sixth place. Contact in race two resulted in a DNF but he salvaged a podium thanks to a clever tyre choice in the finale.

ASH SUTTON

Team BMR Subaru Levorg

The Subaru had more pace at Silverstone than many expected and his qualifying performance was superb but the team was too greedy on set-up which resulted in a puncture in the opener. A superb recovery and the reversed-grid draw earned him a pole for the finale. He was unlucky with the weather as in the dry he had the pace for a potential win.

AIDEN MOFFAT

Laser Tools Infiniti Q50

We don’t need to mention anything prior to race three where he was among the first to make the call to switch to wet tyres. It wasn’t just the tyre call: this was his first time in a rear-wheeldrive car in the wet, the first time the car had run in the wet. His pace was impressive. He landed Infiniti’s first BTCC podium.

DAN CAMMISH

Team Dynamics Honda

Hampered by the same set-up misjudgement as his team-mate in the opener, but came on strong in race two for a podium finish before struggling on the wrong tyres in race three. He was, however, second of the slick-shod cars and has moved up to second in the championship points chase.

TOM INGRAM

Speedworks Toyota

The new Toyota Corolla had good pace this weekend and Ingram qualified well but Sunday was his day. His pace in the tricky conditions of both race one and two made the difference to earn him a double victory. He was unlucky to be collected through no fault of his own in race three.

RORY BUTCHER

Amdtuning.com Honda

Although the FK2 Honda has never thrived here, after his pace at Knockhill, it was still surprising not to see Butcher in the mix. It was an anonymous weekend for him which was further hindered by a DNF through contact in race two. The weekend has, sadly, left him out of overall championship contention.

ANDREW JORDAN

WSR BMW 330i M Sport

Jordan pushed hard all weekend but nothing seemed to be going his way. He outscored his championship rivals in the opener. That was the highlight of his day as he lost out in the next two and shipped ground in the championship chase. It’s not over yet, but he will be disappointed with his weekend.

TOM CHILTON

Motorbase Ford Focus

It was looking like it was going to be an anonymous weekend for Chilton with a ninth in race one and being unfortunate to collect debris in race two which resulted in a pitstop and a lowly finish of 20th. However, he made the right call in the final race and recovered his weekend with a strong fifth place.

MIKE BUSHELL

Amdtuning.com Honda

In only his second weekend this year, and at a track that the FK2 Civic traditionally struggles on, Bushell was consistently inside the top 10 and looked set for something special in race three. Perhaps, having got himself in to such a good position, he was too reluctant to pit for wets...

COLIN TURKINGTON

WSR BMW 330i M Sport

After a misjudgement in race one which caused a spin, it looked like it was going to be a bad day for the reigning champion but, in very difficult conditions throughout the day, he still somehow managed to outscore his main rivals to extend his points lead.

JOSH COOK

BTC Racing Honda

Cook qualified better than his recent Saturday form and put in two strong races to keep his title hopes alive. In the final encounter he looked set to make a big dent in his points deficit. He was unfortunate when minor contact had dire consequences and his championship chances now are purely mathematical.

JAKE HILL

Trade Price Cars Audi S3

Off the back of his first win, Hill would have been hoping for more this weekend. The highlight of came in race three where he excelled on slick tyres and a wet circuit and was working his way forward well until the cars on wets came past. He may have only finished 11th but he won the slick-shod race.

JASON PLATO

Power Maxedvauxhall

Plato was on stunning form on Saturday and managed to claim his first pole of 2019. The soft Dunlops threw the balance of his Vauxhall in the opener but drove well to maintain second. A minor tangle with Ingram cost him a podium in race two but a fourth topped off with sixth in the finale is a pretty good day.

ADAM MORGAN

Ciceley Mercedes A-class

Morgan started

23rd after a broken gear lever in qualifying.

There was a glimmer of hope as he recovered well in race one to work his way up to eighth position but, from there, he spent the rest of the day in the wars. He spun into the gravel in the second race of the day and then was mired in the damaging dogfights in race three.

JACK GOFF

Team Hardvw CC

Goff has had a tough year but his opportunity to shine came in the final race of the day. He was, by far, the first to make the call and get himself on the right tyres which gave him the opportunity but it was more than that: he genuinely had impressive pace and he used it brilliantly to take his first win of the season.
