CAMMISH HANDED NEW TWO-YEAR BTCC DEAL
Title contender secures his future with Team Dynamics squad after successful season
British Touring Car Championship title hopeful Dan Cammish has signed a two-year extension to his deal to race for the factory-backed Team Dynamics Honda squad.
The 30-year-old joined the team at the beginning of 2018 and took two wins on his way to 10th in the standings. He has taken a single win in 2019 but has backed that up with 11 other podiums to sit second in the points table as the series heads for its conclusion at Brands Hatch this weekend.
Cammish, a two-time Porsche Carrera Cup GB champion, is just 16 points away from the title summit.
He said: “It is amazing that the team has seen what I have been doing and put their faith in me again. Some people forget quite quickly that this is only my second season in a frontwheeldrive car and there has been a lot of learning to do.
“I am delighted that I have performed well enough to stay with the team, which is the most professional operation I have ever worked with. Never in my career have I had the comfort of knowing that I am employed for two seasons, let alone one.”
Cammish said he was relishing the championship showdown this weekend, particularly as his first two wins came at the Kent venue at the end of the 2018 competition.
Cammish added: “It is a testament to the work that the team has done that we have been able to be right in the hunt this year and I am really looking forward to the showdown at Brands Hatch.
“I want to reward that faith, and use the learning I have had over the last two seasons, to push on in the finale and I will give it everything I have got.”
