Vettel sells

-

Four-time Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel is selling eight supercars from his personal collection, including three Ferraris ordered while racing for the team.

It is not confirmed why avid collector Vettel has chosen to sell the cars but it is understood it does not relate to him departing Ferrari for Aston Martin.

2 Seas Motorsport will race a pair of Mercedes-AMG GT3s in European competition in 2021, with a GT World Challenge Europe campaign and continuing in British GT among the possibilities.

The Bahraini-British team in its debut 2020 season used McLaren 720S GT3 machinery, and in British GT finished third in the teams’ standings having amid Covid’s disruption diverted from a planned GTWCE campaign. It will take delivery of the two new Mercedes shortly and will confirm its championships and drivers in the coming weeks.

Team co-owner Nick Cristofaro said: “We are carefully reviewing the different options available to us to go racing with the current travel restrictions across Europe as they are. This includes the possibility of a return to the British GT grid for a second season, or possibly taking on the GT World Challenge Europe sprint or endurance calendars – both are extremely appealing to us a team and to drivers.”

The team announced late last year that it intends to race two McLarens in 2021’s DTM. It is unclear how this Mercedes move impacts the plans for a German programme.
