SAFETY CAR HELPS DHILLON PUT LAMBO PAIR IN THEIR PLACE
John Seale and Jamie Stanley were denied a clean sweep in the Britcar Enduro races by Ferrari driver John Dhillon who profited from a mid-race safety car that left him with an unassailable lead in the opening event.
In race two, the Seale/Stanley duo found themselves in second place after changing drivers during an early safety car interlude, and the latter passed Danny Harrison’s Nissan GT3 for first with an audacious move at Agostini.
A pitlane speeding penalty dropped the BMW of Jasver Sapra out of the Britcar Trophy lead allowing the similar car of Oliver Reuben to nip by Mark Lee on the penultimate lap to clinch victory.
In race two, Reuben’s co-driver Steven Baker was coasting to victory until Lee pounced at the final corner to snatch the lead but his Ginetta was left breathless in the race to the finish line which reversed the order again.
Andrew Jordan’s choice of slick tyres for the first Mini Miglia race enabled him to ease to a comfortable victory while he again shone on a rainaffected track to win race two, having started from eighth place.
Shane Stoney pounced on Wayne Rockett’s error at Agostini to take victory in the Hyundai Coupe Cup while a half spin by Jamie Winrow on the final lap of the first Caterham Sigmax race promoted Jamie
Ellwood to victory with the positions reversed in race two.
Harry Senior dominated the first Caterham Sigmax race but he was made to work much harder for victory in race two while former BTCC man Jeff Smith dominated both
Mini Se7en encounters. Charlie Hand displaced Alfie Jeakins, suffering from a clutch issue, in the first Junior Saloon race to take an easy win and repeated the feat in race two.
