BLEASDALE CAPS A SPECIAL DAY FOR HIS FAMILY IN SCOTLAND
OCTOBER 24
Jason Bleasdale completed an unbeaten run in the final round of the BTRDA Clubmans Rallycross Championship at Knockhill to claim his sixth win from six events. It was a special day for the Bleasdale family, as Jason’s brother Darren secured pole position for the final thanks to setting fastest time in heat two and a consistent run through qualifying.
The two brothers lined up at the front of the field and shot away with champion-elect
Jason to the fore and made the day a family 1-2. Behind them, Citroen C2 racer Phil Chicken climbed from the back row of the grid to claim the final podium slot and the Super Modified season honours.
In the Production category, Rory Denning secured the crown, fending off pressure from title-rival Harry Vaulkhard throughout the race. BMW stalwart Vince Bristow won the
Classic final from pole position ahead of a fast-starting Mark Jones from the second row in his Toyota MR2.
Owen Robbins and Kacper Potyra provided the race of the day in the Junior finale. They traded the lead throughout the early laps then Robbins allowed Potyra past as they went back onto the loose and he held on – although second place was enough to secure Robbins the title.
Max Weatherly led the Modified final throughout to claim another victory and the category title, while Dan
Beattie led home Chris Baker in the joint Production 4x4 / Clubmans 4x4 (Supercar) final to net the Production 4x4 crown, while David Bell passed rival Derrick Jobb for the Clubmans 4x4 title with his BMW
Mini ALL4.
Baker won the nonchampionship Superfinal to conclude the event, ahead of Bristow and Jobb.
