The Zeo Prototype Series and Sports Prototype Cup are collaborating to create a blue-riband event next June with a potential bumper 40-plus high-performance sportscars on Silverstone’s Grand Prix circuit.

The Zeo Prototype Series was launched this year with three race meetings for the multi-class high-speed contest. It attracted 19 cars to its most recent round, at Donington Park in September.

Now it is set for its Silverstone GP circuit debut with this doubleheader collaboration event, on June 19, to be the showpiece on its four-round UK-based

2022 calendar.

The Sports Prototype Cup, featuring the Revolution

A-One and Radical SR3 Trophy classes, started its first full season in August 2020 and has since twice supported Formula 1 meetings. It will line up at Silverstone as part of its 10-round 2022 schedule that also includes visits to four other grand prix circuits at Zandvoort, Spa,

Barcelona and Paul Ricard.

Zeo Prototype Series coordinator Grace Williams said: “This collaboration allows us to target a grid of over 40 cars, which would be the biggest and most varied grid of prototypes seen on Silverstone GP for a while. These high-downforce cars suit the fast-and-flowing Silverstone circuit and promises fans and drivers a spectacular pair of races.”

Sports Prototype Cup coordinator James Bailey added: “Every one of our 2022 races will be on a current European F1 circuit. The Zeo team has done a brilliant job in reigniting interest in UK prototype racing and we’re thrilled to be bringing two of our classes to their flagship event.”

TCR UK will return to British GT’s support bill for its first two meetings of 2022, at Oulton Park over April’s Easter weekend then at Donington Park on May 28-29. Both will feature two TCR races. These are followed by a three-race Brands Hatch weekend with the Time Attack Championship on

June 18-19.
