COOK AND MOFFAT TO TEAM UP AT REBRANDED ONE MOTORSPORT FOR 2023
BTCC duo are the first to sign up for the ambitious squad as it seeks to expand
Multiple British Touring Car Championship round winners Josh Cook and Aiden Moffat will team up in the rebranded One Motorsport team – a rebranded name for the BTC Racing operation.
The duo will race the Brackleybased team’s Honda Civic Type Rs in the 2023 competition. The team has three entries in the BTCC and the identity of its final driver has yet to be revealed and the squad is thought to be chasing a fourth entry licence.
Cook was a five-time race winner in 2022 with BTC Racing, while Moffat returns to a front-wheel-drive machine for the first time since 2019. He has previously raced for the Laser
Tools Racing team.
Team principal Danny Buxton said: “We’re thrilled to announce the rebranding and delighted to rejuvenate our BTCC line-up and welcome Aiden in, whilst resigning Josh was an incredibly important step.
“Aiden is a class act and I feel he has yet to reach his potential. I’m confident with the support network we’ll provide, he’ll be a frontrunner from day one. Josh is raring to go and we’re pushing extremely hard to ensure he has all the winning tools.”
Moffat said: “I’m really happy to be signed with One Motorsport for the 2023 BTCC season. Seeing how competitive they were in the Honda Civic FK8 gives me a massive buzz that I just didn’t have last year.
This is the most comfortable I have felt going into a season. Racing is a bit like business, you want to deal with the right people and that’s what we now have for this year with One Motorsport.”
The squad has also acquired the
Motus One operation, and its team boss, racer Will Powell, will now work with One Motorsport as it aims to expand into the GT arena too. One Motorsport is said to be looking at both the GT3 and GT4 categories. lJack Butel will join the Team Hard squad for the 2023 British Touring Car Championship. The former Ciceley Motorsport Excelr8 racer, 26, will partner Dan Lloyd, Dexter Patterson and Bobby Thompson at the wheel of one of the team’s Cupra Rs.
