ORIGAMI KINDNESS TOKENS
So lovely to make and send as comfort to loved ones or a heart warming alternative to greeting cards
Hannah Read-Baldrey and her husband Brendan created Makebox+Co. to help people connect with their creativity, for anyone that wants to step back from the noise of ever yday life and spend some quality time creating beautiful things. The gorgeously packaged projects can be bought separately or you can subscribe monthly or bi-monthly to receive a craft project with all the materials you need and clear photographic step-by-step instructions. Hannah is sharing this lovely idea that anyone can pick up and simply make with paper they have at home – as a way of showing love during the pandemic.
TIME REQUIRED ● 5-10 minutes
YOU WILL NEED
● Square piece of paper in
a rainbow colour
● This butterfly is made from half a sheet of A4 paper made into a square
● Pen
Hannah says, “Since the pandemic all of us have been astounded by the braver y and kindness of our key workers. I thought deeply about those who are sick and those who need extra help. Why not make a few of these simple origami butterflies, pop a little message in the wing and leave them at a doorstop of someone you know to send your love? Give thanks to an NHS worker you know. Pop one on the top of a bin the morning when the binmen come, give one to the local newsagent. Post one to someone who is elderly, vulnerable or sick. Let’s spread the love with these tokens of kindness. Let them fly all over, sending positivity.” 1. Fold the square of paper diagonally
one way and open up. 2. Fold diagonally the other
way around and open up.
