The Salisbury Poisonings, BBC One This three-part drama focusing on the 2018 novichok attack on a Russian spy and his daughter in Salisbury was carried off with typical class and restraint by the BBC. The thing I admired most was the way it captured the creeping horror of the poisonings in such casual, domestic settings as a town centre, an office, a family home. A chilling insight into the malevolent power of global superstate­s and a celebratio­n of human bravery and decency, it shone a light on a dark corner of this country’s recent past.
