This month I’ve been in the sun testing eco-friendly sunscreen, buying garden furniture and using the services of a mobile mechanic. All to help you out!

Sunscreen Suitable For Sensitive Skin

I love the sun, but with fair skin I’m careful with sunscreen so I’ve tested a new range from Green People. www.greenpeople.co.uk

No nasty chemicals as it’s packed with aloe vera, green tea and avocado – ideal for sensitive skin.

Its Family Sun Star ter Pack, £19, has three tubes with SPF factors of 15 and 30.

I popped on some factor 30 and was surprised how thick it seemed, but within seconds it melted into my skin. No greasy residue or smell, and no stained clothes. And I didn’t burn or get prickly heat rash –

result!

Nail Polish That Goes The Distance

Having my nails done is one of my luxuries, so when lockdown meant my nail salon closed its doors I went in search of a power polish. Lots of cheaper brands don’t seem to last more than a couple of days; but Essie (yes I know it’s more pricey at £7.99) really does last. They do a gorgeous rainbow of colours, and adding a clear top coat made mine last for five days.

New Garden Furniture

I’ve been hunting for new garden furniture and fell in love with a rattan sofa set on Amazon. I shopped around and snapped it up £40 cheaper (£279.99)… buying direct from the supplier! www.laura-james.co.uk Set includes a sofa, 2 chairs plus cushions and a glass-topped cof fee table. OK, so in my excitement I did forget it was arriving flat-packed! But the good news is, all the bits were there, plus instructions. It was easy to put up in a couple of hours, and great quality.
