Dear Jo,

I can’t lift myself out the doldrums… A few months ago I caught sight of myself during a video call and have been depressed ever since. I look old and tired and feel a total mess. When I was bringing up children, how I looked didn’t matter. Now they’ve left and I don’t have any pride in myself. I think I need more than a makeover! Barbara

Dear Lynda,

A friend of mine has suggested taking a CBD oil supplement to help relieve my anxiety, pain and disturbed sleep. She has been taking it daily and noticed a real difference, but I’m apprehensive. What’s the difference between CBD and hemp and will it make me high? It’s also very expensive.

Dear Agnes,

I have recently retired from quite a stressful and busy job. I got early retirement, so I should be feeling very lucky and excited about this next cycle in my life, but instead I find myself feeling quite anxious and indecisive about things and I’m finding it hard to make new plans. Are there any crystals that could help?

If family has left, our thoughts can turn inwards and they are not always kind. Your family have moved on to their next stage of life; you can too. Challenge these unkind thoughts and fill the empty moments with self-care.

Stretch your whole body, being gentle with any kinks and clicks. Tr y a bit of yoga or Pilates or just go on a mindful walk. Mindfulness and similar forms of meditation are a great place to star t.

When you bathe, use a body brush, invigorating body wash and soothing, scented creams to thank your body for all its hard work. Listen to music, read, write down your thoughts – just acknowledge the you-ness of you. You are unique and precious. And if you do ever feel like a new hairdo and clothes, then see it as a reason to celebrate
