Keeping It Real

Reality shows, Various channels

Well, it’s been a long, strange, old year. And with so much change and disruption, how good has it been to see our old, familiar reality favourites return to our screens just in time for the festive period? Strictly has been given a shorter run (though it’s still dazzling), Bake Of f has followed social distancing guidelines to a T (and Matt Lucas is a genius addition) while I’m A Celebrity is taking place in a castle in Wales! Even The Masked Singer is due back soon, possibly with a vir tual audience cheering on those wackily dressed Z-listers. Whew! It just goes to show you that you can’t keep a good show down. Happy watching!

Seeing Stars

The Undoing, Sky Atlantic

Charged with A-list power –

Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant and Donald Sutherland lead the cast – The Undoing is the latest big US drama heading for these shores. Kidman stars as successful New York therapist Grace who seems to live the perfect life with her perfect husband Jonathan

(Grant). But things most certainly are not as they seem, as Jonathan’s disappearance sets off a life-changing chain of events. The twists and turns of this glossy thriller are sure to keep you warm well into the winter months.

Secret Pasts

The Sister, ITV

Another thriller sure to set tongues wagging and hearts racing this month is The Sister. Russell Tovey stars as a married man who is haunted by a terrible secret from his past and ITV has promised a “tense and compelling narrative of psychological suspense, dread, love and possible redemption”. Ooft, sounds right up our street! It’s from Neil Cross, the creator of Luther, so you can expect plenty of fireworks.
