Spring is here at last, and what better time is there to discover that one of my favourite desserts is now an ice cream flavour! I’ve been testing it for you – and I’ve also got some great home bargains to share with you, too!

Angel Delight Soft Serve Ice Cream

I’m feeling all nostalgic at the mention of Angel Delight, as being allowed to mix up a packet for tea is one of my happy childhood memories.

And now this much loved fluf fy mousse has been given a new twist and dished up as a soft ser ve ice cream.

I was offered a couple of tubs so I’ve dipped in to test it for you. The tubs say they’re for sharing, so I did let my family grab a spoon, too!

● Exclusive to Iceland and Food Warehouse at £3 (800ml)

The Taste Test: Strawberry V Butterscotch

Strawberry was the hands down winner in our house against the Butterscotch. Dip in and you can instantly taste that familiar fluffy mallowy mousse texture mixed with the creaminess of ice cream. It’s ‘soft serve’ too, so no chipping away or having to leave the tub on the side first. Ready to eat straight from the freezer! The Butterscotch version makes for a fabulous creamy ice cream but didn’t bring back that Angel Delight memory moment, so I’d go for Strawberry for a real spoonful of Angel Delight nostalgia!

Ballpoint Pen Refills

Does ever yone use disposable pens? I’ve got souvenir pens from my travels that I love using, but why is it so hard – and expensive! – to get refills? In today’s throw away society you can buy cheap packs of biros for under £1 but I don’t want to lose my lovely posh pens.

● I finally found refills in Smiths at £5-8. It’s cheaper to buy a new pen, but I don’t want to!
