My neighbour is making me feel fat

-

I am really fed up. I used to be very happy with how I look and what sort of exercise I take, but new people have moved in next door and all the wife talks about is her exercise classes and her healthy diet. Now I feel so fat and lazy and I am jealous of all her keep-fit gear. Plus I envy her motivation and determination. I feel I’m missing out. n You do sound rather sad with all this new information so perhaps it’s time to ask yourself why the sight of another person doing keep-fit feels so uncomfortable. perhaps there are elements about your own health you’d like to change but haven’t had the motivation to act on. So why not do yourself a favour and use the sight of your neighbour to spur you into your own fitness activity? You can do this quietly or loudly, but make sure you are doing it for yourself. Exercise is a must for all of us to dispel fatigue and create energy and beauty. We are all made differently, and envy and jealousy are poor bedfellows. Were you content with your looks and your exercise regime before? if you were, that is fine. All that has changed is your interaction with a new neighbour, which you can choose to ignore. But use the experience to ask yourself if you do need to refresh yourself – we all carry on the same until there is a catalyst for change. Why not get some new gear and look for a different exercise routine, walking programme, yoga class? Above all, believe in yourself. You are the only important person in all this. Your neighbour is looking after herself… so let her get on with it, and just focus on you.
